The mission of the Brewster Center Domestic Violence Services is to provide safer options and support to all victims/survivors of domestic violence through individual empowerment, advocacy, shelter, prevention, community education and social change. Two shelters are available at the Brewster Center for children and women that have been abused. Both shelters are available 24 hours a day, year-round, including holidays.The first shelter is called the West House and is a 30 bed shelter located in Central Tucson.  Whereas the second shelter is called Casa Amparo and is a 14 bed shelter located in South Tucson. The Casa Amparo is operated entirely by bilingual (Spanish/English) staff.Both the Brewster Center shelters provide food, shelter, apparel and other basic necessities.  Assistance and cooperation in planning for the future is also a part of the Brewster Center service offering.The Wings of Freedom transitional housing project of Brewster Center focuses on the survivors who are ready to build their lives after surviving domestic violence scenarios and provides a low-cost transitional housing option to the survivors and victims. The Wings of Freedom transitional housing project also provides the advocacy services to single adults as well as single adults with children.
