OBrien House is a halfway house established in 1971 for adult recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. It is named for Paul S. "Pat" OBrien who spent 53 years of his life working with alcoholics and educating the public to the disease of alcoholism. OBrien House is dedicated to helping individuals turn their lives around to become healthy contributing members of the community. MISSION:The mission of O Brien House is to help recovering alcoholics and drug addicts develop or restore strength, hope, and stability to their lives so they may return to the community as productive citizens. O Brien House is a six month program. They provide support services for clients as they transition from inpatient treatment into independent living. It is their belief that intermediate care services increase the effectiveness of treatment programs for substance abuse and that the percentages of individuals remaining in recovery is increased by living in a structured and protected environment during the first six months of recovery.
